Writing's Blocked

I've been trying to finish this superhero short story I've been working on. I was able to finish the prologue and chapter one but I just can't seem to get started on chapter two. I know what I want to do but I don't know how to start it out to get to that point. I've stared at the blank of piece of paper for hours hoping something would flow but what I do write I end up not liking and have to erase it.

I even took a break from it, focused on other things and began reading A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore. Right now, I am even going through my comic books sorting them out and seeing which ones I can get rid of and hoping that I can get some inspiration. I've gotten ideas for the other superhero stories I want to do but not for this one. Oh, the irony.

So, I'm making it a goal this week to get the story done and posted online. I'm giving myself until Saturday. Pray for me...

Until next, I remain...

Bethel Harbour, me

Son of Jor-El

I got the Ultimate Superman Movie Collection for Christmas from my Aunt Karen.  I tried watching the first movie with my son Cameran but he fell asleep before Krypton even exploded.  I didn't even finish watching it but I plan to along with the other four movies and Supergirl, which is a highly under-rated movie.  I've only been into Superman since The Death of Superman back in 1992 but no matter what he became my favorite superhero even though I was surrounded by people who like Spider-Man more.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Spider-Man as much as the next guy but I always felt his only appeal was that he had the same problems as the readers of his comic.  Which is a good idea.  Superman is an alien but it seems like very few people hate or fear him which is unusual in today's society especially when he has all those powers that couple topple even the strongest military.

I list Superman as one of my heroes because he stands for everything people can become.  Very few real people have inspired me to do much.  Usually I end up doing something because someone tells me not to or that I can't.  So I guess in a roundabout way they have inspired me (but I don't want to give that much credit to my health and english teachers).  I can also sympathize with Superman because I, too was launched to Earth from a distant planet.  You may call me crazy but I don't think I've ever seen a picture of my mom pregnant and I have only seen one picture of my birth and that could've been doctored.  It would also explain why my personality is nothing like everyone else's in my family.  At least I kind of look like them which kind of puts that theory to rest but still, I wonder......

I had an idea for a Superman a couple years ago but it works betters as an alternate reality so maybe I'll write it someday and try to get it published.  I think that we have the ability to travel back in time but the government is keeping that type of advancement under wraps because if we could go back in time, everything would lose value like the first issue of Action Comics which is worth like $175,000, if we could go back in time and buy fifty copies for ten cents and preserve them then the issue would be effectively worthless.  Plus we could save Lincoln, kill Hitler when he's a baby and save the lost colony of Roanoke.

Until next time, I remain...
